01Tell us what you need.
Message us on WhatsApp. We’ll send you a short form, then call to discuss your area, budget and move-in date.
We describe potential flatmates using what they’ve told us about themselves, without sharing names or phone numbers. You decide whether you’d like to meet on a video call.
02Talk first. Then view flats.
If everyone agrees, we host a video call so you can ask each other questions. We stay on the call with you.
Next, we arrange separate visits to SortHomes flats for each person. Each listing shows rent, deposit, maintenance, brokerage and the full move-in total before you visit.
03Choose a flat together.
When you’ve agreed on a flat and token money has been paid, we share your phone numbers with each other. You then sign the rental agreement together.

We group flatmates by gender. Everyone sharing a flat is the same gender.
Who chooses the flatmates?
You decide who to live with. We pass on what each person says about themselves. We don’t match people by religion, caste or food habits.
We speak with each person, but don’t run background checks.

Is finding a flatmate free?
Yes. There’s no fee for finding flatmates. Brokerage applies to the flat you rent. Each listing shows the amount and who pays it, including when you pay ₹0.
Can you find someone for my existing flat?
No. This service is for people who want to find flatmates and rent a SortHomes flat together.
Can my friend and I look together?
Yes. You can come alone, with a friend or as a group. Tell us how many of you are looking and whether you need more flatmates.
How will I meet potential flatmates?
We first describe potential flatmates to you privately. If everyone wants to talk, we host a video call. Your phone numbers stay private until token money is paid on the chosen flat.
How soon can I find flatmates?
There’s no fixed timeline. It depends on who else is looking and which flats are available. Tell us when you need to move so we can discuss what’s possible.
